"So why haven't you ever been in love?"

"It's not really a choice, now is it? I guess I've never met anyone that stimulated me intellectually."

Robin flinched. "Funny, those were the exact words you used to describe me in your emails."

Philip smiled nervously at Robin. No, he wasn't just another pretty face. Hyper aware of Robin's eyes on him, Philip shifted in his chair.

Robin rose from the couch and slowly approached Philip as if he were getting close to a wounded animal. Philip craned his neck as Robin walked behind his chair. Robin rested his hands on Philip's shoulders and pressed down.

"What...what are you doing?" Philip stammered, looking from one of Robin's hands to the other.

"I'm trying to get you to relax."

"Why do I need to be relaxed?"

"Because I want to ask you something, and from what I know of you, I'll probably freak you out."

Robin was right. But Philip didn't like the idea of him being right. He wasn't a coward. He was just nervous around intelligent, gorgeous men, especially ones that had suddenly decided to start rubbing on him. Robin's scent surrounded Philip, making him dizzy. "What's your question? I'll endeavor not to 'freak out'."

"What would you do if I kissed you?"

Philip answered with the first thing that came to mind. "Freak out."

Robin massaged more firmly. Philip wanted to melt into his chair. "And why would you do something like that?"

Because you're a young, beautiful stranger, and I wouldn't trust your motives.

Maybe the young man had known he was gay and the whole thing was a ruse to blackmail him. Or destroy his career. He heard stories like that in the tabloids. "Why would someone like you be interested in me?"

Robin leaned in closer as his thumbs made small circles against Philip’s shoulder blades. Philip could feel Robin’s heat as he pressed his lips against Philip’s ear and whispered, "I've idolized you for so long. Your writing has touched me in ways you can't imagine. You’ve sparked my imagination, fueled my passion. I’ve never dreamed of having a chance like this. But now that I do, how can I possibly let it slip away?"
